X-COSIM A Framework for Cross-Context Semantic Information Management

X-COSIM stands for Cross(X)-COntext Semantic Information Management. X-COSIM consists of an ontology named X-COSIMO and an application programming interface (API) named X-COSIMA. Watch the video!

X-COSIM Architecture

architecture.png

The X-COSIM architecture consists of three conceptual layers that separate the representation of information by the reference ontology (bottom layer) from its representation by context dependent data representations (top layer). The additional middle layer is introduced to provide components for the mapping between these two layers.

X-COSIMO: X-COSIM Ontology

X-COSIMO is a modular core ontology for semantic information management. It is based on the Dolce foundational ontology and enables the representation of different information aspects by using the descriptions and situation design pattern.

X-COSIMA: X-COSIM API

The X-COSIM API provides a JAVA implementation for convenient storage and retrieval of information as defined by the different X-COSIMO modules, e.g. creating and retrieving messages, adding users, annotating and decomposing information objects.
