Ursprünglich aus Mainz kommend, bin ich seit 2010 als PostDoc am Institut für Web Science and Technologies. Das Web begleitet mich natürlich schon deutlich länger -- sowohl im beruflichen als auch privaten Leben. Die Möglichkeit jederzeit und überall auf Informationen zuzugreifen hat mich schon immer begeistert. Außerdem bietet das Web ein Fenster zur ganzen Welt. Da ich gerne reise und Leute aus anderen Ländern treffe bietet das Web idealen Voraussetzungen um Kontakt zu Freunden zu halten und zu pflegen... und als Wissenschaftler kammt man dank Konferenzen und internationalen Projekten auch ganz schön in der Welt herum.

Meine Forschungsinteressen liegen im Bereich Information Retrieval, Web Mining und Linked Data. Besonders charmant sind dabei natürlich Fragestellungen in der Forschung die alle drei Bereiche umfassen. Dazu gehören Suchsysteme für Linked Data, Extraktion von strukturierten Informationen aus dem Web oder Data Mining auf Linked Data. Auch in der Lehre decke ich diese Themengebiete ab. Dazu gehören die Vorlesungen Web Information Retrieval, Machine Learning and Data Mining sowie Seminare und Projektpraktika zu Semantc Web Retrieval, Linked Open Data und Information Retrieval.
