Master programme in Web Science congratulates its first graduate

The Institute for Web Science and Technologies is glad to have its first graduate of the Master programme in Web Science: On 27. November, Miriam Kölle received her degree certificate at the graduation ceremony of the department of computer science in Koblenz.

As of January, Ms. Kölle will be a software developer at one of the world’s biggest e- commerce companies: Otto Group in Hamburg/Germany. She feels optimally prepared for her future tasks and concludes: „The master programme was ideal for me, especially due to its interesting courses in machine learning & data mining, web retrieval and data science.“

The Master programme in Web Science was founded in 2012 at the Institute for Web Science and Technologies. It teaches a comprehensive, interdisciplinary understanding of the World Wide Web. Currently around 60 students from 17 different nations are enrolled in the programme. In 2015, the Master programme in Web Science has received the renowned federal award "Landmarks in the Land of Ideas“ for its visionary concept.
