Collecting and Ranking Conflicting Data in Wikidata[go to overview]
As a free and collaborative knowledge base, created and maintained by volunteers, Wikidata may represent knowledge from different points of view. These points of view can be conflicting, especially when the data comes from different information sources. The Open Knowledge Bases Praktikum has focused on methods and applications for collecting such multi-provenance facts, as well as identifying the preferred fact from a list of conflicting facts. In this talk we would like to present (i) our curation tool, where users are encouraged to gather conflicting data about events, and (ii) several algorithms for the automatic and hybrid identification of preferred facts.
