Empirical Methods for Human-Computer Interaction[go to overview]
In this talk, I will discuss the methods for empirical experiment (user studies) in human-computer interaction research. This is an introductory talk if you are keen on conducting an experiment to evaluate a new computer interface or interaction technique. I will describe different variables and parameters of user studies, which are general in nature for all HCI evaluation studies. However, eye tracking examples will be used to frame the discussions.
