Dr. Ulrich Wechselberger

wechselberger@uni-koblenz.de

I graduated in educational science, psychology and sociology and also did my phD within these disciplines. From 2006 to 2011 I have been a research associate at the Institute for Knowledge Media (IWM) and Institute for Computational Visualistics at the University of Koblenz-Landau. Here, I conducted research on e-learning and serious games, but also did some practical work in this area. From 2011 to 2014 I have been Post-Doc at the Center for Educational Research and Teacher Education at the University of Paderborn. Over there, I conducted research on Gamification and Peer-Assessment. I was also a counsel for young scientists who wanted to learn about research methods in the field of empirical educational research.

Since March 2014 I am the head of administration at the Institute WeST. My main current tasks are to coordinate the Master's programme in Web Science and keep things running at the Institute. When I find the time, I still do some research on Serious Games and Gamification from the perspective of motivational psychology.

In my spare time I go mountainbiking, brew my own beer and I like digital photography.
