1. Data protection declaration
The protection of personal data is an important concern for the University of Koblenz-Landau. In designing our online offers, we comply with the provisions of the German Telemedia Act (TMG) and the German Federal and State Data Protection Act (BDSG/LDSG).
2. Personal Information
When you visit our website, our web servers temporarily store each access in a log file. The following data is recorded and stored for 6 months until it is automatically deleted:
- IP address of the requesting computer
- Date and time of access
- Name and URL of the retrieved file
- Amount of data transferred
- Message as to whether the retrieval was successful
- Identification data of the browser and operating system used
- Web page from which access is made
- Name of your Internet service provider
This data is processed for the purpose of enabling use of the website (connection establishment), system security, technical administration of the network infrastructure and optimisation of the Internet offering. The IP address is only evaluated in the event of attacks on the network infrastructure of the University of Koblenz-Landau.
Personal user profiles are not created.
In addition, we use personal data exclusively within the scope of your consent (e.g. alumni registration, children's university etc.) to answer your inquiries, to process your event reservation or to send you information by e-mail.
You have the possibility to revoke your consent at any time.
3. No disclosure to third parties
Your personal data will only be used within our university. No data will be passed on to third parties. Excluded from this is a transmission to authorized government agencies and law enforcement authorities upon request in the event of misuse of our offer, in particular an intentional attack on our system.
4. Technical data protection
We store your data on specially protected servers in Germany. Only a few employees, who are particularly authorized and bound to secrecy, have access to it.
When you access our website, we store information on your computer in the form of a cookie.
Our websites may contain links to other providers and links to our social media offerings. We are not responsible for whether these providers or the operators of the social media platforms comply with the legal data protection regulations.
7. Right to information
In the event that personal data is collected, we undertake to always provide information about the stored data, if you so wish.
