Excellent dissertation about topic models by Christoph Kling at WeST and GESIS[go to overview]
On 16th November Christoph Carl Kling, researcher at GESIS and formerly WeST, defended his dissertation at the faculty of computer science at the University of Koblenz-Landau and completed his PhD with distinction.
In his doctoral thesis titled „Probabilistic Models for Context in Social Media“ Christoph Kling could identify the topics in documents more accurately by combining topic models with context data such as geolocation or timestamps. The software he developed at WeST and GESIS is available under a free license: http://topicmodels.west.uni-koblenz.de/ - toolbox
