Web Information Retrieval
[go to overview]Summer Term 2022
Introduction
This course will cover a variety of topics relating to Information Retrieval and Web Search.
In this semester, there will be no on-campus lectures or tutorials. Instead, we will provide Screencasts as lectures and live streams for tutorials. To share the screencasts, we will use OLAT. To access the course in OLAT you require a password, which will be sent exclusively to students who are registered for the course in Klips. Therefore, the first step is to register in Klips before the deadlines (available in Klips). If you face any problem, please send an email to Zeyd Boukhers. After being registered for the course in OLAT, you will find all the necessary information there.
Prerequisite
Students are expected to have background knowledge on (i) linear algebra and probability theories, (ii) data analysis, e.g. data science or machine learning, and (iii) must know how to program. Students without programming experience are not recommended to take this course.
Lecture and Exercises
There will be weekly lectures held by Dr. Zeyd Boukhers.
Exams
We are currently planning to have written exams at the end of the lecture period. However, depending on the situation in July, this may change to another mode.
