A Glimpse into Evolutionary Linguistics[go to overview]
Evolutionary Linguistics is the study of the origins and the development of human language. Although most human languages differ substantially in the details they share a lot of general structure. Analyzing and trying to explain these "invariants" in language is an interesting field of study. This talk tries to give a glimpse into that field and is rounded off with some ideas for a potential PhD thesis.
